Three Jimmie women cross country runners earned 2011 Daktronics - NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition. Cambrya Belter, Bernadette Bachel, and Madeline Hornung all were recognized for their academic success off the running field.

 

Belter is a senior from Somerset, Wisconsin, and is majoring in Elementary Education. She will be student teaching in Wyoming during the spring semester.

 

Bachel is majoring in PE - Exercise Science. She is a junior from Annandale, Minnesota.

 

Hornung is a senior majoring in PE - Exercise Science. She is from Jamestown, North Dakota, and is looking at pursuing graduate work next year.

This trio of Jimmies is part of a rich tradition of success for student-athletes on the Jamestown women's cross country team: 

The 2009 Jimmie women cross country team led the NAIA in GPA.

The 2010 Jimmie women cross country team finished 3rd in the nation among NAIA teams with a team GPA of 3.75.

Reyes will pass the runner in front of her for 12th place out of 323 runners and earn NAIA All-American status

Aleona Reyes raced to All-American status in Vancouver, Washington today.
Her start time for the race was 11:45 am PST, 1:45 CST.
Reyes passed two runners in the last 150 meters of the 5000 meter race to finish in 12th place and earn All-American status.
Reyes ran an 18:01 for the NAIA 5 K Championships.  Her best time during the 2011 season was 17:51 at San Marcos, California, on November 5.
