Coach Bormann comes to Jamestown College from Lakeland College, Sheboygan, Wis., where he was assistant men's basketball coach and head men's golf coach for three seasons.
As the top assistant at Lakeland, Bormann assisted in nearly every facet of the program, especially in recruiting, game preparation and practice preparation. Lakeland College improved their win total in each of the three seasons Bormann was on staff, including back-to-back Northern Athletics Conference Tournament appearances in 2010 and 2011.
Prior to Lakeland, Bormann spent two seasons on the Augustana College (SD) men's basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach. Bormann assisted with all facets of operating a successful Division II program and played a key role in helping the Vikings return to the NCAA Tournament.
Bormann previously spent three seasons coaching high school basketball in Minnesota. He has also worked and coached at numerous camps. Most notably, he was a coach at Bill Self's University of Kansas Basketball Camp.
A Detroit Lakes, Minn., native, Bormann was a member of the men's golf team while earning a bachelor's degree in biology and education with a coaching endorsement from Concordia College-Moorhead in 2006. Bormann completed his master's degree from Augustana College (SD) in 2008. He and his wife, Cheryl, were married in 2007.
