Out of State Audition (click to view/print)

Must be postmarked by April 21, 2012

You will need to create a DVD or VHS clearly labeled with your first and last name including this material:  

1.      Introduction: State your first and last name slowly, clearly, and loudly

2.      Demonstrate the following technical skills:

           Double pirouette/double turn on the right side

           Triple pirouette on the right side

           Battement/kick series- step right kick left leg; step left kick right leg; repeat set again (total of 4 kicks l,r,l,r) Keep your arms in jazz second (palms down with arms extended fully side from shoulders)

           Leap series- perform on your best side; run, run, grand jeté/ split leap, step through (arms in high "v" during leap) run, run, reverse leap, step through (arms overhead during leap) chassé, step, straddle leap/leap in second (arms reach through center palms face up)

           Turns in second- executing 2 eight-counts worth of turns in second on the right side preparing on 7,8: leg opens to second on 2,4,6,8,2,4,6 pull in leg to passé for double pirouette on 78, land on count 1 stepping passé leg to side in plié

3.      Pom Demonstration:

            Material should be 6 eight-counts long showcasing knowledge of pom technique and style, option to insert clip from your team performance is permissible (see note at bottom for additional information)

4.      Hip Hop Demonstration:

           Material should be 4 eight-counts long showcasing knowledge of hip hop styled movements including stalls and hip hop skills such as a windmill, option to insert clip from your team performance is permissible (see note at bottom for additional information)

5.      Jazz Demonstration:

           Material should be 8 eight-counts long showcasing knowledge of jazz technique and style, option to insert clip from  your team performance is permissible (see note at bottom for  additional information)

Notes:

Wear solid colored top and bottoms ex: leotard and pants, halter top and shorts etc. (no stripes and loud patterns)

Look professional (hair off face) performance makeup is highly suggested

If you insert material, you must included a sheet stating where you are on the video so the judges

can focus on you ex: In my jazz demonstration, I start on center and stay on the left side two people in from the center

Musical accompaniment is not required, music used should be appropriate for all audiences

Include a photo/headshot (does not need to be professional) will not be returned

Make sure to fill out your on-line application to get your information into our database to reach you.

The decision to extend an athletic scholarship offer to you will not be made until your video has been received and reviewed
