Ed Crawford - Head Coach - 4th Season

Ed Crawford enters his fourth season as head coach of the Jimmie men's track & field and cross country programs.

Before Jamestown College, Crawford spent 12 years at Division I New Mexico State. He coached 46 conference champions and led the women's track team to the Sun Belt Conference championship in 2002 and 2004. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's outdoor track & field coach of the year in 2002 and 2004. In 2002, he was also named the NCAA DI Mountain Region Women's Outdoor Track & Field coach of the year.

At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Crawford coached five Division II national championship teams (three in women's cross country and two in women's track). He has also coached at Cal Poly Pomona, Ohio State and University of California-Irvine.

Crawford earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Cal Poly Pomona, and he did graduate work in biomechanics at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is a native of Diamond Bar, California.

Andrew Gideon - Grad Assistant - 1st Season

Andrew Gideon graduated from Jamestown College in 1993 with an English major, Secondary Education certification, and minors in Mathematics & Psychology. He played college baseball for the Jimmies.

He has 14 years of teaching experience at the junior high and high school level. Andrew has coached 47 seasons of sports:  12 boys basketball, 10 track & field, 10 girls basketball, 10 baseball (9 legion), and 5 cross country. Andrew has coached two state champion Montana pole vaulters: 2008 boys B champion & state record holder, 2009 girls B champion. He was also blessed to be a part of state champion teams: (1) as a player in 1986 for the Missoula Sentinel basketball team, (2) as an assistant coach for the Missoula Mavericks Legion baseball team in 1991, (3) for the MT Boys B Track Seeley-Swan HS in 2000, and (4) in 2007, he was an assistant coach for the State B Montana Boys XC champions (Thompson Falls Blue Hawks). He wrote a book on the experience (Harrier Hawks Fly High).

Andrew returned to Jamestown College August 1, 2011, in the roles of sports information director, assistant track & field, and assistant cross country. He will also be working on a Master's of Education Degree at Jamestown College.

Gideon has run 15 marathons, qualifying for the Boston Marathon 3 times. He also was the Montana State Champion for the 50 mile Le Grizz Ultra Marathon in 2007.

Andrew's favorite blessings in life are his wife Deborah (married 8-6-00), son Jaxon (born 9-16-04), and son Kaden (born 6-9-06). Ask him today about delivering 2 lb, 6 oz Kaden three months early in the back of a GMC Sierra extended cab pickup, on a MT highway!
