The Jamestown College softball team used a two-run seventh to take down Judson on Friday in the final day of the Tucson Invitational Games, but the Jimmies were on the losing end of a late rally against Robert Morris in the nightcap to round out the tournament.

The Jimmies defeated Judson 6-5 before losing a tight 3-2 contest to Robert Morris to conclude the tournament in Tucson, Ariz. Jamestown College finished the nine-game tournament 6-3 and is now 8-5 overall.

The Jimmies stay on the road to play Northern State University on Mar. 22 in Aberdeen, S.D.

Jamestown College starter D.J. Johnson never allowed Judson's batters to get comfortable in the batter's box.

Despite allowing five runs on 10 hits, Johnson fanned 11 batters to help lift the Jimmies to their third victory in four games.

The offense picked up Johnson by scoring six runs on eight hits, including two in both the first and seventh innings.

Heather Haegele went 2-for-4 for JC with an RBI, one of six players to record an RBI for the Jimmies.

Sam Gladen started in the circle for Judson and went the distance with four strikeouts.

Brianna DiGioia went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Emily England went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Robert Morris 3, JC 2

Jimmie starter Jessica Lees strung together five scoreless innings after allowing an early run in the first inning.

The senior hurler was on cruise control heading into the final inning after posting five straight zeros, but the Eagles were able to rally in the final inning to deal Lees the loss.

Robert Morris pushed two runs across in the final frame to hand the Jimmies their third loss of the tournament.

The Eagles finished with three runs on eight hits, while the Jimmies scored two on five hits.

Celene Eccles led the Jimmies with two RBIs after going 1-for-3 and Cassie Hite went 2-for-2.
