Jennifer Brandt, from Devils Lake High School, signed to compete in Track & Field for the Jimmies Fall 2012

Jamestown College women's track & field coach, Jim Clark, announced that Jennifer Brandt, who will be a 2012 graduate of Devils Lake High School, has signed with Jamestown College and plans to participate in Track & Field for the Jimmies.

Jennifer is the daughter of Wayne and LeAnn Brandt of Devils Lake. Jennifer plans to study Accounting and Business Administration.

Track & Field: High School Coaches:  Gib Kjelden and Kensi Wateland

Statistics and Honors:

Shot Put:  Best Mark = 36' 1"     EDC - 6th Place - 2011

Discus:  Best Mark = 114' 7"     ND State A Meet - 7th Place - 2011

Javelin:  Best Mark = 92' 0"

Coach Clark said, "Jennifer is a special young lady who is amazingly gifted academically. She is the recipient of the prestigious Wilson Scholarship - the only full tuition scholarship offered by Jamestown College. Jennifer is also a skilled thrower for the Firebird track & field team. Jennifer earned a place in the North Dakota Class A State Meet last year in the discus. Jennifer is rather small in stature - as throwers go - but she has talent and strength. Jennifer is athletic and may find the new events she has the opportunity to try - 20# Weight Indoor and Hammer Throw outdoors - to her liking. She will be a wonderful addition to Jamestown College and has the character to be a future leader of Coach Kathryn Lemm's throws crew."
