Head coach Tom Hager announced the 2012 Jamestown College baseball schedule.

The Jimmies schedule is loaded with quality opponents and a trip to Tucson, Arizona.

Last year Jamestown collected 32 wins and a trip to the NAIA National Championships opening round. In Joliet, Missouri, the Jimmies defeated Robert Morris 13-5 before falling in two close contests to Oklahoma Baptist and St. Francis. Oklahoma Baptist finished the season with 46 wins. Oklahoma Baptist went on to win the opening round and travel on to the NAIA Championship in Lewiston, Idaho, and win a game in the 2011 National Championship bracket.

Coach Tom Hager begins his 13th season at the helm of the Jamestown Jimmie baseball team.  His teams have compiled 341 wins, 163 losses, and 2 ties during his tenure.

The Jimmie season begins with Northern Sun opponent Minnesota-Crookston in the Metrodome on February 26.

During spring break, Coach Hager's squad will travel to Tucson, Arizona, for the 2012 Tucson Invitational Games. The Jimmies will play three games against William Penn, winners of 22 games in 2011. Indiana Wesleyan, winners of 19 games last year, will also be on tap. Other games in sunny Arizona include Northwestern (Iowa) and Saint Ambrose.

Midland University notched 27 wins and a trip to the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship in 2011. Jamestown will play them March 16 and 17.

Morningside had 31 wins during the '11 campaign - the Jimmies toe the rubber four times against the Mustangs this season: On March 18 and April 18.

Perennial power Mayville State, ranked first in the Dakota Athletic Conference last year and winners of 27 games, will host the DAC Tourney April 27-29. Last year, the Jimmies came into the DAC tourney with a third place standing, but upset the Comets to advance to the Joliet NAIA opening round bracket.

Mayville State is on the schedule April 6 and 7.

The Association of Independent Institutions (AII) will have their tournament in San Marcos, California, on May 2-5, 2012.

The ultimate goal for the Jimmie 2012 squad is a trip back to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, May 25-June 1. The Jimmies earned a trip to the World Series the past two Presidential election years, 2004 and 2008.
