YANKTON, S.D.-- Kirstyn Aldridge (FR/Williamsburg, Va.) registered the second UJ hat trick of the season and the Jimmie women scored six first-half goals on the way to a 9-0 win over Mount Marty (S.D.) College Sunday afternoon.
Aldridge scored two of her goals in the Jimmies' six-goal first half, tallying in the 16th minute on assist from Shelby Webb (JR/Alta Loma, Calif.) and again in the 35th minute on a pass from Juliet Ramirez (JR/Fairfield, Calif.).
Brianna Kulla (SO/West Fargo, N.D.) set up Caelie Williams (JR/Pierre, S.D.) for the first goal of the match, coming in the third minute. Phoebe Edwards (SO/Adelaide, Australia) made it 2-0 on an unassisted goal at 8:36, then Dianne Miranda (SR/Tustin, Calif.) made it 3-0 70 seconds later, with the assist by Kristin Breaux (FR/Chino, Calif.).
Aldridge's first made it 4-0, then Webb assisted on her second goal of the half, this time by Ramirez, at 20:36 to make it 5-0.
Connie Contreras (SR/Gilroy, Calif.) scored in the 56th minute from Webb extending the lead to 7-0, then Breaux added an unassisted tally at 77:50. Aldridge completed the hat trick in the 84th minute to close out the scoring.
Jamestown outshot Mount Marty 26-7, including 18-2 on goal.
The Jimmies improve to 9-4-1 on the season while the Lancers fall to 2-9.
Up next for the Jimmies is a 1:00 p.m. match Saturday at home against Bellevue (Neb.)
