JAMESTOWN-- Matt Young (JR/Woodland, Wash.) narrowly missed setting a new personal record and the Jimmie men's cross country team finished seventh of ten teams at the Jimmie Invitational Friday afternoon at Parkhurst Cross Country Course.
Young finished 10th in a time of 25 minutes, 58 seconds, just one-tenth of a second from his personal-best time of 25:57.9 set at last year's NAIA National Championships.
Donavan Moser (SR/Medina, N.D.) was the second UJ runner to cross the line, taking 41st place in a time of 27:53. Moser set a new personal record, besting his previous best time of 28:56.9.
Daniel Palmer (SO/Royalton, Minn.) was 53rd with a time of 28:15, beating his personal best by four seconds.
Josh Young of Minnesota State-Moorhead was the individual winner with a time of 24:52. University of Mary won the team title with 30 points. MSU-Moorhead was second with 44 points, and Valley City State third with 108 points.
Next up for Jamestown is the Mount Marty Invitational on October 21.
