JAMESTOWN-- The University of Jamestown men's cross country team is back in action Friday, hosting the Jimmie Invitational at Parkhurst Cross Country Course.
The course is located six miles north of Jamestown on Highway 52/281 (toward Carrington) and one mile west on 30th St SE at Parkhurst Recreation Area.
The Jimmies last competed at the Dean White Invitational in Crete, Neb., on September 23. UJ took 7th of nine teams on an abnormally warm September day. Matt Young (JR/Woodland, Wash.) placed third of 98 runners in a time of 27 minutes, 30.45 seconds.
Donavan Moser (SR/Medina, N.D.) was the second runner to cross for UJ with a time of 30:38.07, good for 44th place. Dakota Wagner (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) was one place behind Moser with a time of 30:41.61. Aaron Ford (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) was 55th with a time of 31:13.97, Daniel Palmer (SO/Royalton, Minn.) placed 59th with a time of 31:22.14, and Jamison Gray (SR/Dickinson, N.D.) was 76th in 32:54.80.
Friday's race is the second-to-last competition of the season before the NSAA Conference meet on November 3. The Jimmies will run at the Mount Marty Invitational in Yankton, S.D., on October 21.
