LA CROSSE, Wis.-- Austin Rene (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) shot an even-par 72 Tuesday to finish in a tie individually for sixth place while helping the Jimmie men's golf team to a third place finish at the Ronnie Eastman Invitational.
Rene's two round score of 149 (77-72) paced the Jimmie men, who finished Monday's first round in third.
Nathan Kapaun (SR/Fargo, N.D.) tied for 19th with a score of 156 (79-77), while Nolan Frank (SR/Sartell, Minn.) was 21st with a 157 (80-77), and Jacob Rice (JR/Mitchell, S.D.) tied for 22nd with a 158 (77-81). Benji Miller (SR/Rugby, N.D.) played as an individual and tied for 27th with a 160 (77-83).
Winona State's Michael Schmitz paced the field with a 137 (70-67), seven shots ahead of Viterbo's Drew Schroder (69-75-144).
Kirkwood CC led the team race wire-to-wire, finishing with a two-day score of 594 (301-293), 24 shots ahead of Viterbo (310-308-618) and 26 shots ahead of Jamestown (313-307-620).
