JAMESTOWN-- Henrique Lucena-Pires (SR/Porto Alegre, Brazil) converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute and the Jimmie men's soccer team held on for a 2-1 win against Johnson & Wales (Colo.) Friday afternoon.
The Jimmies took the lead in the 12th minute as Charlie Foster (SR/Sutton, England) took a pass from Lucena-Pires to make it 1-0.
Johnson & Wales drew level just under the hour mark of the match on a goal by Kyler Fowkes, assisted by Mark Ramirez-Tapia.
Following a foul by Fowkes with 24:32 to play, Lucena-Pires put UJ ahead as Wildcat keeper Michael Genge could not make the save.
Jamestown (2-2-1) pushed its unbeaten streak to three matches. Johnson & Wales dropped to 3-6-1 overall this season.
Lasse Binder (SR/Hamburg, Germany) faced just two shots on goal in the match, making one save. The Jimmies outshot the Wildcats 14-3 (4-2 on goal).
