JAMESTOWN-- The University of Jamestown men's soccer team will play its first home matches of 2017 with a pair of games on the Jimmie Turf Field this weekend.
Friday the Jimmies take on Johnson & Wales (Colo.) at 4:30 p.m., then host Grace (Neb.) Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Jamestown (1-2-1) has not played since September 17, battling Saint Ambrose University to a 2-2 draw in double overtime.
Last season UJ played Johnson & Wales to a scoreless tie, but remain unbeaten all-time against the Wildcats (2-0-1).
On Saturday, Jamestown will play Grace University for the second time in program history. The Jimmies won 6-0 against the Royals last season. There will be no live video, but live stats will be available at http://www.dakstats.com/Websync/Pages/Webcasts.aspx?association=10.
Henrique Lucena-Pires (SR/Porto Alegre, Brazil) leads the Jimmies in scoring through four matches. The senior has two goals and an assist for five total points. Ben Prochniak (JR/West Fargo, N.D.) and Ben Mathews (SR/Brentwood, England) also have goals for UJ. Lasse Binder (SR/Hamburg, Germany) has recorded 22 saves in three starts and has a save percentage of .759.
