JAMESTOWN-- Minot State University scored a late first-period goal and made it hold up for the final 40 minutes as they handed the Jimmie hockey team a 1-0 loss at John L. Wilson Arena Thursday evening.
Adam Wowryk scored at the 17:57 mark of the first for the game's only goal. Assists went to Johl Swedlo and Bryce Lipinski.
Jamestown was 0-for-2 on the power play within the game's first 10 minutes. The Jimmies were 0-for-7 on the night, including a 5-on-3 opportunity with 6:30 left in the third period.
Holden Kurtz stopped all 26 shots he faced for the shutout. Tyson Brouwer (SO/Lethbridge, Alberta) had 26 saves on 27 shots.
