Sixteen University of Jamestown athletic teams earned the honor of NAIA Scholar-Teams for the 2016-17 academic year, the national office announced Tuesday.
The women's track and field teams posted the top two grade point averages for the Jimmies in 2016-17. The outdoor track and field team recorded a 3.50 GPA and the indoor team a 3.49.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligble varsity student-athletes.
