Both Jimmie distance runners competed in the marathon, which began at 6:00 a.m. local time. With a temperatue of 82 degrees and 93% humidity, the conditions were tough to say the least.
Posner completed the race in a time of 4 hours, 23 minutes and 18 seconds to finish 38th in her first marathon. Michaela Werner of Oklahoma City was the first-place finisher with a time of 3:03:41.60.
Young had a bit of a rougher go of it in the 26-mile race and was forced to drop out at the 16-mile mark, due to recurring pain from an injury he suffered earlier this season.
Christian Graham of Saint Mary (Kan.) won with a time of 2:37:31.20.
