Jimmie athletes won six events at the Al Cassell Relays, held Saturday at Taylor Stadium.
Sophia Bruckner (FR/Tempe, Ariz.) sprinted to a double first-place finish in the 100 meters (12.90 seconds) and 200 meters (26.87). She also ran the first leg on UJ's 4x100 meter relay team, which crossed first in a time of 51.01 seconds. Joining Bruckner were Julia Johnson (FR/Park River, N.D.), Madelaine Rue (FR/Frazee, Minn.), and Kylee Voigt (FR/Jamestown, N.D.).
Rue took the tape in the 100 meter hurdles, finishing in 16.35 seconds. Rachel Heuchert (SR/Browerville, Minn.) was the top finisher in the 800 meters, with a time of 2:19.22. Heuchert, Hannah Christenson (SO/Rugby, N.D.), Christa Lysne (SR/Devils Lake, N.D.), and Voigt also won the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 4:13.56.
Jimmies who finished in the top six included Lysne, who was fifth in the 1500 meters (5:01.80) and sixth in the 800 meters (2:30.05), Christenson (2nd, 200 meters--27.01; 3rd, 400 meters--59.62), Voigt (4th, 400 meters--59.80), Rue (4th, 400 meter hurdles--72.06), Emily Stier (SO/Rugby, N.D.) (6th, 200 meters-- 27.43), Amber Posner (JR/Pillager, Minn.) (2nd, 5000 meters--19:53.49), Allison Foster (SO/Rugby, N.D.) (3rd, 5000 meters--20:06.52), Krista Thielges (SR/Enderlin, N.D.) (4th, javelin--109 feet, 8 inches), Adele Keller (FR/Poulsbo, Wash.) (5th, javelin--104 feet, 5 inches), Alicia Weiand (FR/Mandan, N.D.) (6th, javelin--98 feet, 6 inches), and Jordan Thomas (FR/Pingree, N.D.) (5th, long jump--16 feet, 9 1/4 inches).
For the men, Dylan Koenig (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) placed third in the 400 meter hurdles (57.12), Ed Mata (JR/Alamo, Texas) tied for fourth in the high jump (5 feet 10 1/2 inches), Keith Rogers (SR/El Cajon, Calif.) was fourth in the long jump (20 feet, 5 1/4 inches), Brady Carlson (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) was fifth in the 400 meters (51.33) and sixth in the 200 (23.33), Cam White (JR/Tollhouse, Calif.) took fifth in the 200 (23.27), Noah Knutson (SO/Casselton, N.D.) was fifth in the triple jump (40 feet, 10 inches), Matthew Hust (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) was sixth in the javelin (148 feet, 11 inches).
The 4x100 meter relay team of Carlson, Koenig, Mata, and White took fourth place with a time of 44.49 seconds.
