ONALASKA, Wis.-- The Jimmie men's golf team is in third place after the third round of the North Star Athletic Association golf tournament, which will conclude Tuesday at the Golf Club at Cedar Creek.
UJ enters the final round four shots behind second-place Viterbo and 29 shots behind Viterbo.
Jacob Rice (SO/Mitchell, S.D.) shot a four-over par 76 and is tied for second with Fernando Arazate of Bellevue. Rice's score of 228 (78-74-76) is six shots behind leader Diego Gudino, also from Bellevue.
Nathan Kapaun (JR/Fargo, N.D.) is in eighth with a three-round score of 235 (78-77-80). Austin Rene (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) is 15th at 246 (82-84-80), and Nolan Frank (JR/Sartell, Minn.) is tied for 17th at 251 (88-80-83). Brandon Stahlhut (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) shot the second-best score for UJ in round three, finishing at 7-over par 79.
The 36-hole scores from today and tomorrow will be combined with the 36-hole scores from the fall tournament to determine the team and individual qualifying for the NAIA national tournament.
