BISMARCK, N.D.-- The Jimmie men's track and field team got their first taste of outdoor action Saturday, competing at the Al Bortke Open hosted by the University of Mary.
Jamestown finished fifth of seven teams with 35 points. U-Mary took the top team score with 263 points, followed by Dickinson State with 102 and MSU-Moorhead with 80.
Andrew Hornung (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) had the top individual performance for the Jimmies, taking third in the 400 meter dash in a time of 51.34 seconds.
Ed Mata (JR/Alamo, Texas) was fourth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.88m (6 feet, 2 inches).
Dylan Koenig (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) had two top-six finishes, placing fifth in the 110 meter hurdles (21.81) and sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (59.20).
Next up for Jamestown is the Northern Twilight Meet in Aberdeen, S.D., on April 13.
