SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-- Tyson Brouwer (FR/Lethbridge, Alberta) had 32 saves, Michael Pruss (FR/Red Deer, Alberta) and Cole Sonstebo (JR/Fergus Falls, Minn.) each scored a goal, and the #6 Jimmie hockey team ran its winning streak to five games with a 2-0 victory over #21 Utah Friday night.
Pruss put the Jimmies ahead 1-0 at the 17:57 mark of the first period. With a loose puck in front of Utah goaltender Patrick Kasper, a massive logjam of players blocked the keeper's view, and Pruss was able to get the puck in the net.
UJ made the one-goal lead stand up for over 38 minutes until Sonstebo converted on a power-play opportunity with 3:12 left in to play.
The two goals were more than enough for Brouwer, who made several highlight-reel saves to keep the Utes at bay.
Jamestown ended Utah's 10-game winning streak and improved to 3-0 against the Utes this season.
Tomorrow's series finale is set for 8:30 p.m CST.
