The Jimmie men's wrestling team hosted Northland Community & Technical College at the Hansen Center Wednesday night, and UJ came out on top by a score of 47-6.
Four of Jamestown's win came by pinfall, with Dillon Kifer (SR/Little Falls, Minn.) (141) taking down Rashidi Kikopa in 5:24; Jackson Schauer (SO/Grand Rapids, Minn.) pinning Tanner Schreifels in 1:10; Kade Thompson (SO/Idaho Falls, Idaho) (165) over Alex Giese in 3:58; and Ryan Sanchez (FR/Deland, Fla.) (184) earning the fastest pin of the night in 16 seconds over Michael Lambert.
Brandon Aragon (SO/Pueblo, Colo.) (149) dominated in his match against Cory Hasbrouck, winning in 4:11 by 17-0 technical fall.
The two wins NCTC earned did not come easily. Mike Zupan (JR/Moorhead, Minn.) lost a tough 10-7 decision to Nathanael Holecek at 174. In the final match of the night, Nathan Bernal (JR/Covina, Calif.) battled but came out on the wrong end of a 7-4 decision to Desmond Bradford at 285. Bernal was at a huge weight disadvantage, but gave Bradford all he could handle.
Jamestown will compete at the MVC Open at Marshall, Mo., on Friday and Saturday.
