The last home dual of the season was a winner for the Jimmies.

Sixteenth-ranked Jamestown College piled up four pins and won seven of the 10 matches to topple Minot State 34-9 Thursday night at the Hansen Center.

Despite the dominating performance, coach Cisco Cole was looking for even more.

"Coach (Robin) Ersland is going to do great things with that program, but they're young and we're not," Cole said. "To be real honest, I was looking for a shutout.

"The matches we won, we wrestled well. Our guys competed hard, but I thought we left some wins out there."

The Jimmies, who improved to 5-4 in duals, won the final five matches of the night after trailing 12-9 early.

Enderlin's Pat Nord started the JC streak, sticking Hunter Field 24 seconds into the second period.

"Pat's an animal," Cole said. "Win, lose or draw he's going to give you everything he's got."

Drew Moch followed with a narrow 1-0 win despite giving away nearly a half-foot to fellow 174-pounder Cris Molina.

Anthony Clay was next and majored Luke Michaelson, 10-3, at 184.

"Anthony's a lot like Pat," Cole said. "He's going to wrestle really hard and he likes to put on a show."

B.J. Mosley dinged his nose and knee early against Wade Weppler, and needed a reversal with just three seconds left in the match to escape 2-1 at 197.

"I thought he wrestled a smart match," Cole said. "Not every victory can be a blowout."

Heavyweight Aaron Field finished things in style, needing just 1:48 to put away Sean Small.

"Aaron is one of those guys that gets excited. But the plan was simple: just score points," Cole said. "Aaron is tough. No question about it."

The Beavers started the dual with a 7-2 win as Robert Herrera edged Sean Blumhardt. The Ellendale native got speared in the ribs early, but fought through it.

Jarad Miller and J.J. Gubler were impressive early for the Jimmies.

Miller was all over Sam Loggins before ending it at 3:57 by fall.

"Jarad is on fire. He's wrestling as well as anybody at 33," Cole said.

Gubler showed impressive stamina at 149 where he built up a 9-0 lead on Jon Wilson before earning the pin 6:24 into the tilt.

With the home schedule in the books, the Jimmies take this weekend off before heading to Wisconsin to dual UW-Oshkosh Feb. 11 ahead of the BluGold Invite the following day in Eau Claire.

Cole likes his team's direction, but wants more.

"I like where we're going, but not where we're at," he said. "There are still things we have to improve on if we want to get where we want to go."
