Through two scrimmages and one game, the Jimmie women had not played with a full lineup of 11 players.

They did Sunday, but the Tigers, who did not lose a match until the NAIA national tournament last season, had too much firepower.

"We kind of came onto the field unsure if we could compete with them," Bohn said. "It wasn't that we were thoroughly outplayed, we just made little mistakes that were key, and led directly to goals."

Dakota Wesleyan scored just three minutes into the game and Linsey Peterson had two goals in the win.

The Jimmies did square the match 20 minutes in when Hillary Bull snuck one past DWU keeper Danielle Richardson to even it at 1-1.

The Tigers answered 10 minutes later, getting two tallies in the span of 80 seconds to lead 3-1 at the break.

"I told the girls at halftime, ‘We can compete with them,'" Bohn said. "For a number of reasons, this was the first time we had 11 girls on the field together. That's strange to think about. But we didn't seem to have enough energy at all 11 positions like I would have expected us to have."

Jimmie keeper Kayla Byle was busy. The freshman from Kalispell, Mont., finished with nine saves.
